TEST PREP for College Entrance Tests!
The Gwinnett County Public Library system has three databases that will provide students with free assistance in preparing for the college entrance tests - Learning Express Library, RBdigital Test Prep, and Learn4Life. As you know, classes offered elsewhere can often cost a few hundred dollars.
The Hamilton Mill Branch will offer two information sessions in November to parents and students about how to use these databases. Right now they are the only branch offering formal sessions but anyone interested in learning more can go to any branch to receive assistance.

WEBSITES TO USE:
www.fafsa.gov - Make sure you are on the .gov site and not another website. There are fake websites out there that charge to fill out the FAFSA. Remember that the F at the beginning of FAFSA stands for FREE. The customer service at FAFSA is wonderful and are there to help EVERYONE through the process if you have questions.
On this website is the FAFSA4Caster. This gives you the opportunity to estimate your financial aid numbers.
www.GAFutures.org - This is where students get information about the HOPE Scholarship. It is critical to stay updated on the HOPE Scholarship requirements and changes.
FERPA and Electronic Transcript Authorization
In order to process your transcript requests electronically, we must have a written authorization form on file or complete the Common App FERPA.
The electronic transcripts will be used for the Common Application and other colleges that accept electronic applications. If you have any questions, please contact Meg Scheid at firstname.lastname@example.org or 678-518-6695.
If the colleges you are applying to require the Common Application (www.commonapp.org), please confirm the early deadlines for those colleges. IT IS THE STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP TRACK OF THESE DEADLINES. Counselors receive some of the emails from colleges, but not all of them.
For ANY COLLEGE APPLICATION, it is imperative that the student submit his/her portion of the application BY THE DEADLINE. Do not wait until you see the teacher recommendations submitted or other materials from the school submitted. Teacher and counselor information will be submitted separately and may not always follow the same deadlines.
